There are bugs and there’s stuff that’s not done, but Snow Leopard wasn’t perfect when it was released, either. On the one hand, the release intentionally evokes Snow Leopard in its focus on low-level technologies and foundational improvements. I’ve written and deleted and rewritten this section of the review twice now, because despite using it for months and diving deeper into it than most people will bother to, I’m still not sure what to think of High Sierra. its obviously not a major update, but i haven't experienced ANY bugs whatsoever (unlike iOS 11) and the fact that the issue I've had for so long has finally been fixed, I am more than happy about the update. these issues shouldn't have happened in the first place, but im glad they have been finally resolved (i've waited almost a year since purchasing this product). Now, even on the integrated hd graphics card, everything is buttery smooth. obviously these issues would go away once the system started using the discrete graphics card. of course, this would only happen when using the integrated graphics chip. those would always lag, even after subsequent updates.
but the WORST offender was the stacks in the dock (documents and downloads folders). opening finder and scrolling through tons of files list would occasionally hiccup.
switching through full-page apps were never an issue, but sometimes it would get gittery when viewing exposé or mission control. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.
